Previously, heating was exclusively from stoves. It never occurred to anyone that it is possible to heat the house with something else. Since the stoves burned almost non-stop, the chimneys quickly clogged. They had to be cleaned regularly. People either did it themselves or called cleaners for help.
Today, most houses (more than 50%) have gas heating. Many (about 20%) heat their homes using electric heaters. Stove heating was kept in about 15% of the houses. Ancient stoves have long since replaced modern fireplaces. They not only make the room warm, but also very comfortable.
If the stove is new, the first cleaning of the chimney should be done after about a year. Then this should be done at least once every six months. Soot and deposits are deposited on the walls of the chimney. Their layer can reach a maximum of 4 mm. If there is more soot, you need to urgently clean the pipe.
Please note that if the chimney is dirty, the consumption of wood for heating the house will be significantly higher. Soot is an excellent thermal insulator ; prevents heating of the furnace pipe.

The thicker the soot layer inside the chimney, the less upward movement of the smoke we observe. If there is too much soot, traction can disappear altogether.
How can we prevent this? Of course, you can clean the pipe, but you can do it differently.
In addition to firewood, periodically throw 3-4 handfuls of potato peels into the stove. It is better to do this at the end of the hearth.
You can use fresh peels, or you can use dried ones. Does not matter. The only caveat is that several fresh cleans will be required. The bark releases starch as it burns. It affects the soot and makes it softer. Due to this, the soot itself will begin to be thrown out of the chimney.
Carry out cleaning manipulations for 3-4 days. As a result, the pipe will be completely cleaned. If you burn potato peels every month, you will forget about your problems with the chimney.
